Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas famously known as Ashanti. Ashanti was birthed on the 13th of October, 1980 on the shores of Glen Cove New York United States. She is an American singer-songwriter and actress. The talent of Ashanti was discovered as a teen. The singer signed with Murder Inc. Records, in 2002. Ashanti Shequoiya Doug, popularly referred to as Ashanti was born in Glen Cove New York on October 13, 1980. Tina Douglas was her mother as well as Ken Kaide Thomas Douglas before performed as a vocalist. The Kenashia Shia family is their eldest sister. Douglas named Ashanti Shia Douglas to honor the Ashanti Empire from Ghana where women were powerful and influential. Douglas wanted Ashantis to take this as a model. On the 16th of October Hey Baby (After the Club) was made available to stations and digital platforms. She was a part of the movies Christmas in the City as and Army Wives. The song she sang Rock wit U was sampled by British singer Aitch to accompany his track Baby on the 10th of March 2022.
